Booking with TopHelpers
How do we work?
TopHelpers helps you compare and hire local movers without hidden costs or surprises by providing exact price quotes based on your move details. The prices include everything, and the final cost is constant unless you change the factors. Also, you don’t have to search for professionals and talk to them separately. Everything is simple, just enter your job details and get your results – compare and book – complete the job
What is the “Due Now” fee?
The “Due Now” fee is a deposit that secures your moving date. It is not an extra charge: TopHelpers never adds a percentage or a fee for customers, and the deposit is applied toward your final bill. Our commission comes from the moving companies, under the agreement between TopHelpers and the movers on the platform.
The deposit depends on the hourly rate of the movers you choose. For example, if you book a mover with 3 helpers at $149 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, your Due Now fee is $111.75.
You can pay the Due Now fee by credit card, debit card or PayPal. The rest is paid directly to your mover after the job is completed.
How can I make my move cheaper?
- Look for free moving boxes and packing supplies.
- Rent a truck.
- Ask friends to help, or book more affordable helpers on TopHelpers.com.
- Hunt for moving discounts; some moving companies offer coupons.
- Compare rates from several moving companies.
- Get rid of unnecessary or unwanted items before the move.
How is the contract confirmed?
When your helper accepts your order, you receive an email confirmation. That confirmation means the contract is confirmed.
Can I cancel my move at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your move at any time, but a cancellation fee may apply:
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the job, you are charged for 1 hour at the rate you booked.
- If you cancel within 1 hour before the job (a last-minute, same-day cancellation), you are charged for 2 hours at the rate you booked.
To cancel, please contact TopHelpers.
Do I get a refund for a canceled booking?
Yes. If you cancel the job at least 24 hours (one day) before it starts, you get a full refund.
How can I contact customer support?
For any questions or assistance, contact our Customer Support at (888) 572-4020 or support@tophelpers.com.
How does TopHelpers take its commission from movers?
TopHelpers charges movers 25% of the first 3 hours of a job. For example, at $119 an hour the commission is $89.25 (119 × 3 × 0.25).
For 2-hour-minimum jobs the commission is 37.5% of the first 2 hours (at $139 an hour: $104.25, that is 139 × 2 × 0.375), because most jobs take about 3 hours and 2-hour-minimum rates are usually higher.
Customers pay this amount as the “Due Now” deposit when booking. It is deducted from the final bill, and the rest of the payment goes directly to the mover after the job is completed.
